The Benefits of Working with a CFP®
What is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®?
Most people think all financial planners are “certified,” but this isn’t true. Just about anyone can use the title “financial planner.” CFP Board benefits the public by independently certifying financial planners. Although CFP Board does not guarantee their work, CFP® professionals have met rigorous qualifications for financial planning. Only those who have fulfilled CFP Board’s rigorous requirements can call themselves a CFP® professional.
As part of their certification, CFP® professionals commit to high ethical standards. What’s more, a CFP® professional must acquire several years of experience related to delivering financial planning services to clients and pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Exam before they can call themselves a CFP® professional.
How This Benefits The Client
Holistic Planning: The CFP® certification emphasizes a comprehensive approach to financial planning. This means I am better equipped to integrate several aspects of your financial life—investments, retirement, taxes, estate planning, and more—into a cohesive strategy tailored to your unique goals.
Up-to-Date Knowledge: Achieving the CFP® certification requires staying current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices. You can be confident that the advice I provide reflects the latest in financial planning and investment management.
Enhanced Fiduciary Commitment: As a CFP® professional, I am held to a fiduciary standard in advisory relationships, which means I am legally and ethically obligated to put your best interests first. This reinforces the trust you have placed in me to guide you with integrity and transparency.

My Ongoing Commitment to You
As a CFP®, I am dedicated to staying current with the ever-changing financial landscape and maintaining the highest ethical standards. I fulfill several important obligations every year:
Continuing Education: Every two years, I complete 30 hours of continuing education focused on key financial planning areas like retirement strategies, tax planning, estate management, and investment opportunities. This ongoing education allows me to stay up to date on new laws, financial trends, and best practices—so I can better serve your needs.
Ethics: Maintaining a high ethical standard is at the core of my practice. I undergo specialized ethics training to reinforce my commitment to the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct. As a fiduciary*, I’m legally obligated to act in your best interest at all times, and I take this responsibility seriously.
My commitment to continuing education and ethical practices ensures that you receive the highest level of expertise and care as we work together to pursue your financial goals.
